Katie Watson was an improvisor for 20 years performing across Chicago and with Sirens, and was a faculty member at Second City’s Training Center teaching improv and sketch writing 2008-15. As a writer, Katie is author or co-author of several critically-acclaimed sketch shows, her plays have had readings or workshops with theaters including Goodman, Stage Left, and Polarity, and she can still be seen performing at the live magazine show Paper Machete at The Green Mill. Her current creative endeavor is being a Professor at Northwestern’s medical school, where she teaches medical ethics, law, and “medical improv” (a method of enhancing doctor-patient communication she created), and she writes passionately about abortion access, reproductive justice, and obstetrics and gynecological care.
