Marilyn Campbell-Lowe (Co-Adapter) is an actor, producer, and published, translated, award-winning playwright whose plays have been performed across the United States, incl. Berkeley Rep., Actors Theater of Louisville and Cleveland Playhouse, and around the world, incl. London’s West End, Oxford UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Greece, Hungry and Indonesia, as well as in New York City, at 59E59th Street, Gural Theatre, Classics Stage Co. and Provincetown Playhouse.  Awards incl.: Chicago’s Joseph Jefferson Award, LA Backstage Garland Award, and a nomination from the LA Drama Critics Circle, among others.   She the original co-founder of Writers Theatre, Glencoe, IL, who first commissioned this adaptation of Crime and Punishment.  In addition to TUTA, Crime and Punishment will also be produced in London this year.  Last season, Ms. Campbell co-adapted FIRE!! with Paul Oakley Stovall.  FIRE! is the recipient of a 2025 William Penn Foundation Grant ($225,000) and an NEA grant ($25,000).  FIRE!! had its world premiere October 16, 2025, at Quintessence Theatre in Philly and will next be featured this November for the 100th Anniversary Celebration of its printing at CUNY’s Black Studies Program in New York City.  Other award-winning plays include:  My Own Stranger (w/Linda Laundra), from the writings of Anne Sexton, The Beats, Written by Phillis and Sentinels (Gittleman and Good).   She is a member of Actors Equity Association and the Dramatist Guild of America.  For more information visit her website at www.marilynrcampbell.com
